Softr Pricing Explained

Softr offers four pricing tiers and a free plan. The tiers are structured around apps, users, and records, and the gaps between plans are significant enough that a team can find themselves needing to jump two tiers to unlock a feature they assumed would be in the plan below. This guide breaks down exactly what each Softr plan includes in 2026, where teams commonly hit limits, and what drives costs as usage grows.

Softr's Four Pricing Tiers

Softr pricing is based on the number of published apps, the number of logged in users (people who access the app through a user account), the number of database records, and the number of workflow actions per month. All plans are available on monthly or annual billing, with annual billing saving roughly two months of cost.

Free Plan

The free plan allows one published app, up to 10 app users, 5,000 database records, 500 workflow actions per month, one custom domain, and two user groups. It connects to Airtable, Google Sheets, Xano, and SmartSuite.

Softr branding appears on apps published on the free plan. The free plan is genuinely functional for testing the platform or building a single small internal tool with a handful of users, but the 10 user limit makes it impractical for anything shared with a real team.

Basic Plan (approximately $49/month billed monthly, or around $41/month billed annually)

The Basic plan allows three published apps, 20 app users, 50,000 database records, 2,500 workflow actions per month, and one custom domain. It adds features like Kanban views, payment collection, and the ability to embed Softr apps externally.

The 20 user limit is the most significant constraint at this tier. For a team of 25 or a client portal with 30 users, the Basic plan is not sufficient. Softr branding can be removed at this tier with a paid add on.

Professional Plan (approximately $139/month billed monthly)

The Professional plan allows unlimited published apps, 100 app users, 500,000 database records, 10,000 workflow actions per month, and more advanced features including advanced visibility settings and user management capabilities.

The Professional plan is the starting point most real world internal tool and client portal use cases require. Additional users beyond the 100 included can be added in packs of 10 for $10 per month, up to a maximum of 250 total users. AI credits (50 per month at this tier) allow use of Softr's AI features for content generation and data processing. Additional AI credits are available for purchase.

Custom domains each cost $13 per month (annual billing) or $15 per month (monthly billing). The base plan includes one custom domain. Additional domains for agencies or multi brand portals add to the total cost.

Business Plan (approximately $269/month billed monthly)

The Business plan allows unlimited apps, unlimited published apps, up to 1,000 app users, 1,000,000 database records, 25,000 workflow actions per month, and adds SQL database support (PostgreSQL, MySQL), REST API integration, and unlimited user groups.

The Business plan is the minimum entry point for connecting to SQL databases or REST APIs. There is no lower cost tier that enables this. For teams whose data lives in PostgreSQL or MySQL rather than Airtable or Google Sheets, the Business plan is not optional, which represents a significant jump in cost from Professional.

Enterprise Plan (custom pricing)

The Enterprise plan adds SSO (SAML/OpenID), SOC 2 reporting, audit logs, dedicated support, and SLA guarantees. Pricing is negotiated directly with Softr's sales team.

What Drives Costs at Each Stage

Users. User count is the most common driver of unexpected cost increases. The gap between Basic (20 users) and Professional (100 users) is a $90 monthly jump. Teams that expect to grow from 15 to 30 users need to be on Professional from the start or plan for the upgrade.

SQL databases. Connecting to PostgreSQL, MySQL, HubSpot, or BigQuery requires the Business plan at $269 per month. There is no intermediate option. Teams whose data lives in SQL systems pay significantly more than those using Airtable or Google Sheets.

Multiple custom domains. Each additional domain beyond the one included costs $13 to $15 per month. Agencies managing multiple client portals on separate domains can see domain costs add up quickly.

AI credits. AI credits are capped per plan (5 on Free, 10 on Basic, 50 on Professional, 100 on Business). Additional credits can be purchased. Teams that rely heavily on Softr's AI features for data processing or content generation should factor credit costs into their total monthly spend.

Workflow actions. Automation heavy apps that trigger many form submissions, email notifications, or data updates can burn through monthly workflow action limits. Free: 500 actions. Basic: 2,500. Professional: 10,000. Business: 25,000. Apps with frequent automated activity may hit these limits faster than expected.

Annual vs Monthly Billing

Annual billing saves approximately two months of cost across all paid tiers. For teams that are confident in their plan selection, annual billing is the more cost effective choice. For teams still evaluating whether Softr fits their use case, starting monthly gives flexibility to switch plans or cancel without a 12 month commitment.

Is Softr Worth the Cost

Softr is worth the cost for teams whose primary use case is building client portals or internal tools from data that already lives in Airtable or Google Sheets, and whose user base is well understood (controlled access rather than open signups). The platform delivers a polished result quickly and is genuinely accessible to non technical builders.

Softr becomes harder to justify when the data source is outside Airtable or Sheets, the user base is unpredictable or large (per user pricing compounds), or the use case requires SQL connectivity, REST API integration, or SSO on a budget below the Business or Enterprise tier.
